Our story
How it started
Welcome to Yay Ministries! Our journey started in 2018 when I felt God ask me to lay down my goals for the year and wait on Him like Mary of Bethany. One day during quiet time, when I was struggling with identity and fear of rejection, He reminded me ‘You are you’ (Yay!) and so came the idea to write, draw, testify and encourage anyone that wants to listen (Psalm 66:16) of this truth. Hand in hand with Jesus, I started to step onto the water. A year later, The Yay Project (our blog) was born.
How it's going
Last season, walking on water looked like sharing my faith online and starting an online ministry. This season, walking on water looks like exploring a kingdom business idea. After 10+ years in the workplace, I believe it's time for the next step. I'm pursuing a Master's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology at the University of Waterloo and praying about where God might use me in this area. How about you — is there something you feel God is calling you to do that requires walking on water faith? Do you sense it's something you were meant to try anyway? Follow along this season as we dive into the topic of work! And on You Are You podcast, I'll be interviewing some of the most interesting and creative Asian and Asia-based working women I know on work + faith. Let's obey God together and encourage one another :)
Where we're going and how we're getting there
Our God is so good! He is love and he loves us. He is at work and he wants to include us. Jesus is coming back and he's calling us to be ready. May we live for him today, eagerly anticipating the day we reign with him forever. Come Lord Jesus, come. Help us live each day with you.

Our mission
Our prayer is that Yay Ministries will encourage and equip you to embrace your God-given design and pursue your God-given calling. Here's how we'd love to support you.

Encouraging
God designed us to be in community. Our prayer is that we can build true community online, sharing our real ups and downs, giving God glory through it all. We welcome you as you are and hope to encourage your in your pursuit of our Lord. Follow our Instagram and Facebook for bite-size content, and our blog, podcast, and YouTube for long-form content.

Healing
Our Jehovah Rapha ("the Lord who heals" in Hebrew) heals! Experiencing inner healing sessions strengthened my walk with God. I 'practiced' bringing my full self before him and he showed me how to live without shame. It changed my life and I pray all who encounter Yay will experience the same. Explore the various resources on the blog/podcast regarding inner healing. More to come, God willing!

Praying
As David prayed, may our prayers be like a sweet-smelling incense before God (Psalm 141:2). Prayer is such a privilege — we get to speak with the God of all creation and worship him, ask for his help, talk to him like a best friend, etc. May we learn to pray like we breathe! With Yay, I pray every piece of content reminds us of whose we are and who is coming back. Lord, use us to do your will (Matthew 9:38).

Prophesying
Prophecy is a gift of the Holy Spirit. We believe it is in operation today as God wants us to "Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. (1 Corinthians 14:1)." While prophecy can take the form of predicting future events, it also looks like exhortation, comfort, and inspiration given to equip and edify the body of Christ. We pray the 'downloads from God' shared on Yay lead you closer to God's heart.

Testifying
One of my favourite verses is "Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me. (Psalm 66:16)" God has done, is doing, and will do so much for us. Amen? Let us boast in our Lord to give him glory and pray that our testimonies encourage others to seek him. Find testimonies on the blog and podcast. Contact us if you'd like to share your testimony with us!

Training
Starting in fall 2022, a big part of our focus will be encouraging and equipping Christians who want to build a kingdom business or apply kingdom principles in their secular workplace. Look out for training videos on YouTube and interviews with incredible Asian and Asia-based women on the podcast!
